How Many Pencil Shavings for a Children's Book?

Let the contest begin! The children’s book is coming along and the pencil shavings are piling up! Enter your guess (in ounces) as to how many you think there will be when I finish the children’s book. (this picture is halfway through).   2. Hum, if I were to remove the lead from a pencil how much would it weigh? How many shaving would it yield. How many pencils to make a pound ? Now with all of that in mind how about a “WAG” I so want an autographed book from Duck Girl. 18.7 ounces 🙂

  7. Doesn’t it depend on the pencil quality? I am guessing you use fancy pencils which are heavier- yet a shaving is quite light. Lots of pondering going on here. I will say 13.5 ounces.
